    Brief factsheet. A barren, triangular reef, only three feet in elevation, Kingman Reef lies 932 miles southwest of Hawaii. The reef is nine miles long and five miles wide. Only the eastern end of it now remains above water. There is no land flora, but it is rich in marine life. The reef is administered by the U.S. Navy.
